Procurement Specialist - West Point, VAThe opportunity:
This position is responsible for procurement of chemicals, parts, labor and equipment to support the mill.
The individual will work closely with internal customers (mill personnel) and with the suppliers of products/services that support the West Point Mill to secure product and/or services to cover the day-to-day requirements of procuring products and/or services.
This position submits Requests for Quotes, reviews and evaluates bids, schedules meetings with prospective bidders and negotiations, processes and monitors purchase orders.
Orders are awarded based on either Corporate Procurement Contracts/Agreements or Mill Purchasing Agreements.
Work within Mill and Corporate directives and follow guidelines in the management services above.
Performs functions needed for dispute resolution/problem solving.
The individual will pre-qualify new companies with WestRock's requirements for supplying products, equipment and/or services at the West Point Mill.
How you will impact WestRock:
Monitor and work with operations to ensure parts/equipment are ordered and delivered.
Be able to contact alternate suppliers if scheduled shipments will not arrive in time for the mill.
Review competitive proposals from suppliers for award decisions.
Contract implementation, including developing and negotiations of agreements working with legal, compliance, risk, supply chain and all other stakeholders.
Lead continuous improvement to drive meaningful changes in process, supplier, or material to deliver value beyond price.
Process purchase requisitions and orders to secure products and/or services as required.
Evaluate, and implement orders where needed.
Coordinate and consult with internal and external customers regarding purchase requirements following corporate procurement guidelines.
Compiles data for mill and corporate reports as requested.
Perform internal WestRock audits and external supplier audits.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree preferred with 5-8 years of procurement experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and present.
Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Self-directed with minimal supervision.
Must be able to manage a project timeline and have capability to own and drive execution for projects in which other people contribute.
Strong analytical and planning capabilities are a must, as is the ability to appropriately summarize key issues and provide guidance to individuals.
Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
